Meet I. Ricardo Martinez, M.D., Ph.D.

Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Tulane University and Louisiana State University Medical Centers, Dr. I. Ricardo Martinez is a clinician and teacher of medical, surgical, and cosmetic Dermatology. He is Chief, Dermatology Division, Chairman of the Continuing Medical Education Committee, and a member of the MD Anderson Physicians Network, East Jefferson General Hospital, Metairie, Louisiana.
He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from LSU School of Medicine, interned at Overlook Hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his Dermatology residency |
Dr. Martinez is Board Certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology, is also Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology at LSU School of Medicine, and has published numerous scientific articles in medical journals and textbooks.
Dr. Martinez is President of the American-Georgian Foundation, the organization which performs humanitarian Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery in Georgia, formerly in the USSR.
The American Academy of Dermatology has bestowed its highest honor for a volunteer in the Leadership Circle for Volunteerism by awarding its "Members Making a Difference Award" to Dr. Martinez.
Dr. Martinez received the Louisiana State Medical Society's Continuing Medical Education Award for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of continuing medical education in Louisiana.
